Pistons New City Edition Uniforms Honoring Detroit Bad Boys Era
The Detroit Pistons have always had awesome team jerseys.
Some of my favorites are the 1981-1996 jerseys.
They were made famous by the Bad Boy's era when the Pistons played their best basketball and were NBA Champions.
I also really loved the Pistons jerseys between 1996-2001
When I see them I instantly think of Grant Hill.
Pistons New City Edition Uniforms Honoring Detroit Bad Boys Era
The Detroit Pistons unveiled their NBA City Edition uniforms for the 2023-24 season that honor the Detroit Bad Boys era.
The uniforms go along with a new "Detroit Bad Boys" retail collection that is being released by the team at the Detroit Pistons shop.
Chief Marketing Officer for the Detroit Pistons Alicia Jeffreys said this about the new uniforms.
“This year’s City Edition uniforms are inspired by the “Bad Boys” era of Detroit Basketball that changed the way basketball in the NBA was played, personified the city and displayed the blue-collar attitude of Detroiters that still resonates to this day."
The Pistons will also have a special city edition court to play on at Little Ceasers Arena.
When Will The Detroit Pistons Wear The City Edition Uniforms?
The Pistons will wear the uniforms nine times this season. The Pistons will host seven Detroit Bad Boys nights featuring an appearance by a member of the 1989 NBA Championship team.
The “Detroit Bad Boys” nights schedule is:
November 5 vs. Phoenix (Isiah Thomas)
December 26 vs. Brooklyn (Rick Mahorn)
January 27 vs. Washington (John Long)
February 26 vs. New York (James Edwards)
March 20 vs. Indiana (Vinnie Johnson)
March 22 vs. Boston (John Salley)
April 1 vs. Memphis (TBD)
I'll always love the old-school Bad Boys jersey but I do like these new ones too.
