Seeing Kate Middleton, a commoner, walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey this morning was a beautiful moment for all of us who watched Princess Diana take the same steps thirty years ago.

The differences between both weddings are plenty with the most obvious change being Kate's dress of choice -- very elegant, not extravagant like Diana's.  A couple of you called to say how much you liked Kate's lacey, long veil.  BTW, the tiara she wore was given to her by Queen Elizabeth who received it as a gift on her 18th birthday.

Other differences included Kate's insistance to be driven to the church instead of by way of horse drawn carriage.  Her wedding ring was a simple gold band with no diamonds, and William opted out of a ring all together!

Then came the vows, and like her late mother-in-law, Kate chose to skip repeating the word 'obey' during her promise to love and cherish her husband both in sickness and in health!
