Two Big Reasons Michigan Teen Made It Into This Years Guinness Book Of World Records

Eric Kilburn Jr., a 16-year-old from Goodrich, Michigan, has made headlines for his remarkable achievements that have earned him a place in the 2025 Guinness World Records.

He holds two prestigious titles: the largest feet and the largest hands for a living teenager.

Kilburn's feet measure an impressive 13.5 inches, which puts him a size 23 shoe, while his hands measure 9.13 inches.

These measurements significantly exceed the average sizes for boys his age, which are approximately 7.4 inches for hands and a much smaller shoe size.

Early Recognition and Challenges

Kilburn first noticed his unusual size during kindergarten, where he realized he was much taller than his peers.

As he grew older, finding shoes and gloves became increasingly difficult.

Since fifth grade, he has had to rely on custom orthopedic shoes, which can cost upwards of $1,500 per pair.

This led his mother, Rebecca Kilburn, to consider whether his unique measurements could qualify him for a world record.

With encouragement from family and friends, Kilburn applied for the record titles at the age of 14.

His story gained traction online, attracting the attention of major sports brands like Puma and Under Armour, which began providing him with custom footwear.

Reflections on Achievement

Expressing his disbelief at being included in the Guinness World Records, Kilburn said,

"Being included in the Guinness World Records feels unreal... I am incredibly thankful for this experience."

 

 

He hopes that his visibility will help others who feel out of place due to their unique traits, encouraging them to embrace their differences.

Kilburn said he looks up to figures like basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal and aims to use his platform to inspire and support others facing similar challenges.
