Tulip Time is upon us, and this week will bring more fun including three AMAZING parades!

  • On Wednesday, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. you can enjoy the Volksparade (also known as the "People's Parade"). The Mayor and the City Council put on their white gloves and inspect the parade route, after which the Town Crier declares that the “streets need scrubbing” and the Volksparade kicks off! Enjoy marching bands, amazing floats and entertaining specialty entries wind their way down the freshly scrubbed streets. Bringing up the “tail end” of the parade are the infamous Dutch Dogs!
  • Thursday brings the Kinderparade featuring area schoolchildren dressed in Dutch costumes. The parade will take place from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Saturday you're going to want to get to Holland early to claim your spot for the Muziekparade. It's one of Michigan’s most spectacular parades featuring floats, Dutch Dancers, marching bands and more! With over 4,000 participants, 170 units and the longest parade route in Michigan, the Muziekparade delights thousands of spectators every year. Catch an encore of the Petoskey Steel Drum Band as they treat crowds to a fabulous post-parade performance at 3:30pm at the corner of 8th Street and College Ave.
