According to the Facebook post announcement, they were approached by someone who wanted to lease their downtown location.

Recently, we were approached by a local restaurateur asking if we would consider leasing our Theo & Stacy's Downtown location. After careful consideration and significant family discussions, we have decided to accept their offer.

With 50 years of memories, this announcement will surely have people reminiscing.

When Theo & Stacy opened the downtown restaurant, their first location, in 1973, they did not know what to expect or how their small Greek/American restaurant would be received. The love and support they felt from the community was and continues to be overwhelming. We are truly blessed to have had you as part of our lives. Thank you for 50 years of loyalty, love, and support!

With this announcement, many people who knew and loved the restaurant have shown their support for Stacy's retirement.

Thank you for what you've brought us! Yours was my first authentic Greek cuisine experience, the first restaurant I ever considered to be my favorite, one of mine & my husband's first dates, and the first heartbreak of 2023.

I would have to agree with what Wayne said about Theo & Stacy's.

Stacy - Kalamazoo is a better place because of you! You have made Theo proud of all you have accomplished and the family you raised. Thanks for everything you've done for the community! We love you!

Located at 234 West Michigan Ave, the Kalamazoo staple announced on Sunday that the last day that they will be open will be January 29th.

What is your favorite memory of Theo & Stacy's?

These Michigan Restaurants Have All Sadly Closed Since Appearing on National TV

You'd think an appearance on a national TV show like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives or Restaurant: Impossible would guarantee success for a restaurant.

That hasn't been the case for these six restaurants, all of which have closed after being featured on national television.
