We've been relatively lucky this year when it comes to weather in West Michigan, but it appears that our luck may have run out.

If you're a snow lover, you're in luck, but if you hate snow, well, you're not going to like this news.

⬇️These 10 Michigan Towns Experience The Worst Snowfall⬇️

The National Weather Service out of Grand Rapids is predicting that much of the Lower Peninsula will see snow tonight (November 20) into tomorrow morning (November 21).

How much? Well, that depends on where you are.

In Grand Rapids, the NWS says that it's likely that one to two inches of snow will fall. Further south near Kalamazoo, folks could see two to three inches. Those north of Big Rapids could see three to four inches.

The NWS says that the rain that we've been seeing for the past few days will transition to snow overnight and into Thursday morning. Due to current ground temperatures, it's unlikely that much of that snow will stick to the roads, but it will accumulate on lawns and decks.

While the experts say that depending on where you are in the state, you should expect to see anywhere from one to four inches of snow, they do warn that higher snowfall totals are possible in some areas.

When Does West Michigan Usually See Its First Snowfall?

After all of the warmer weather we've had, you may think that getting snow this time of year is uncharacteristic, but it isn't. Blake Hansen and George Lessens over at WZZM-13 actually pointed this out recently - saying that, typically, the first measurable snowfall in West Michigan happens sometime in the third week of November.

The earliest that Grand Rapids has ever seen its first measurable snowfall (on record) was, according to the Lansing State Journal, on October 7, 2000.
