Flags Are At Half-Staff Today, Plus Troops Come Home!
Two special events are happening today in West Michigan to honor local soldiers who have volunteered to train and protect our country from danger. The first is a funeral for U.S. Army Corporal Joseph A. Dreumel of Jenison. The 32-year old soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan earlier this month. His funeral begins at noon at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Flags are at half staff today in his honor.
Meanwhile, 1436th Army National Guard Engineering Company is returning to Montague after serving in Iraq. Currently, the soldiers are celebrating with family and friends at the Montague High School football stadium.

Blessings to each soldier and his or her family. Thank you for your bravery, courage and dedication to protecting America's freedom. I am sincerely grateful.
