Forest Hills Central High Switching to Remote Learning Feb. 8 Due to COVID Cases
Forest Hills Central High School students will be doing their learning remotely for an unspecified amount of time beginning Monday, February 8, 2021.
The move back to remote learning comes after thirteen students at the school tested positive for COVID-19 between February 1 and February 5.
Contact tracing is being conducted for all students who tested positive and it is not believed that the infected students contracted the virus at the school. The total number of students that could potentially have to quarantine following the contact tracing may increase to 200 or more.
Free meals will be provided to families that request them. Those interested in free meals are asked to send an email, including the student’s name, to Sarah Hawkins at shawkins@fhps.net before 10 a.m. on Monday. Meal kits will be distributed curbside on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 160 Alta Dale Ave. in Ada from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, contact sports in the state of Michigan will be allowed to resume beginning on Monday. Participants in contact sports where they cannot remain masked will be required to undergo regular testing under protocol set forth by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
