Former Preacher Assaults Incapacitated Man

A former pastor of a church in Traverse City, Michigan, has plead guilty to a sexual assault charge involving an incapacitated man.

According to MLive, the former preacher, Christopher Cox, of Long Lake Church faced several charges of sexual assault and delivering or manufacturing methamphetamine.

Cox apparently committed the assaults in his home in Traverse City in March and in October.

The 19-year-old accuser told the police his life was threatened if he told anyone about the incident.

Police arrested Cox in Muskegon on March 29. When police captured Cox, he was in possession of what appeared to be crystal meth.

Michigan law states that third degree sexual assault involves penetration as well as the offender "has reason to know that the victim is mentally incapable, mentally incapacitated, or physically helpless."

Cox did admit in court that his victim was physically helpless and that he did not have permission to have sex with him.
