Michigan Is Losing Its Very Last Fowling Warehouse This Month
I was already bummed when I found out that the Fowling Warehouse in Grand Rapids was closing earlier this year.

Now I'm just learning that the last Fowling Warehouse in Michigan is closing its doors at the end of June.
If you've never had the chance to play Fowling then you're missing out.

The game was created years ago as a total accident at the 2001 Indianapolis 500.
A guy named Chris Hutt and his friends built a full-size bowling lane at their campsite, but the backstop wasn't strong enough to stop the heavy bowling balls.
To avoid wrecking neighboring tents, they put the balls away but left the pins standing.
Later, a football from a nearby game rolled in and knocked some pins over.
A lightbulb went off, they started throwing the football at the pins instead, and spent the weekend making up rules.
Eventually, the game got so popular that Hutt decided to turn it into a full-time business.
He opened the very first Fowling Warehouse in Hamtramck, Michigan, back in 2014 and sadly that is the last one remaining in Michigan that will be closing for good on June 27.
While there will no longer be any Fowling Warehouses remaining in Michigan, there are still 6 remaining locations across the country that include:
- Cincinnati, OH
- Indianapolis, IN
- Dallas, TX
- Omaha, NE
- Minneapolis, MN
- Kansas City, MO
