It's free times three this weekend in MIchigan.

The Michigan DNR is allowing residents and non-residents to fish, ride an off-road vehicle, and enter any of the state parks for free Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13. During these two days you can enjoy the outdoors, and Michigan has so much of it to offer!

  • Free Fishing Weekend at any of the Great Lakes or inland lakes without a license. The next time won't be until winter 2022.
  • Free ORV Weekend - ride over 3,800 miles of trails and routes without purchasing a license or trail permit. Another one is scheduled for August 21-22 of this year.
  • Free Recreation Passport guarantees free entry into 103 state parks and over 1,300 boating sites. Applies to Michigan-registered vehicles and non-registered.

As far as this weekend's weather goes, it's going to be hot with highs in the mid to upper 80's in the Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Detroit area. Temperatures hover in the 70-80's in Traverse City and high 60's as you get into the U.P. Regardless, don't forget your sunscreen!
