Early Friday morning the US National Weather Service Marquette reported Michigan's first snowfall of the 2022-2023 season.
Michigan's Upper Peninsula is no stranger to snowfall. In fact averages in the Upper Peninsula range from 60" around Escanaba to over 300" up in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
But what about us Trolls down here in the Lower Peninsula? Michigan's Lower Peninsula receives much less snow than our yooper friends with an average of 60.66 inches of snow per year.
The west side of the Lower Peninsula usually gets hit harder because of heavy snowstorms caused by lake effect snow.

Will West Michigan Get Snow In October?
If you're a Game of Thrones fan then you know what I mean when I say "Winter Is Coming"
According to Wood TV West Michigan has about a 10% chance of seeing snowfall in the month of October. When it comes to snow falling on Halloween it's only happened 25 times in the past 125 years.
When Does West Michigan Usually Get Accumliating Snow?
