Grand Rapids High School Wins State Title
Last week we told you about 3 West Michigan high schools that brought home a state title, this weekend we have another champion!
In a thrilling, overtime victory Grand Rapids Catholic Central Girls Lacrosse beat Bloomfield Hills Sacred Heart in Troy, 17-16. Catholic Central's Haley Brennan scored with 6 seconds left in overtime to seal the victory.
I wish I could have been there. Just a couple of years ago I had never watched lacrosse (other than during the 'American Pie' movies, but that doesn't really count). Now I find myself watching on tv and marveling at the growth of the sport across the state and country.
Congratulations to the Cougars on their first state championship in girls lacrosse! WZZM has more details on the huge win.
