The Grand Rapids Loading Zone Rules You Never Knew
I park in downtown Grand Rapids five days a week, and I've gotten so many parking tickets in my life that there shouldn't be a single pothole in the city limits.

Most of my tickets are from forgetting to put more money into the meter, and when I do, just like clockwork, a ticket finds its way onto my windshield.
One place I've always avoided parking in was a loading zone because I assumed that if I got a ticket there, it would be really expensive.
I recently saw something about parking in Grand Rapids loading zones and I had to do a double take to make sure I was reading it correctly.
Apparently there are several different situations that allow you to park in a loading zone without getting a ticket.

Grand Rapids Loading Zone Uses
Grand Rapids transportation recently shared some interesting information on what loading zones are for, and I was surprised by several things you're allowed to use them for.
20 Minute Parking: I always thought that loading zone spots were for delivery companies that might be dropping off food for a restaurant or beers at a bar.
Or one of the big delivery companies, but you can also use it for 20 minutes.
Dropping Off / Picking Up: Dropping Off / Picking Up: You can hang in a loading zone for a few minutes if you're dropping someone off or waiting to pick them up.
So tell your friend who's never ready that they don't need to rush.
Here are some other things you can use loading zones for.
