Reckless Driving Nearly Claims Life of Michigan Tow Truck Driver
Nobody likes it when their car breaks down, but when it does happen, it's a relief to see a tow truck driver pulling up behind you.
If they can't fix your car, they can at least transport you and your broken-down vehicle to a safe location for repairs.
This tough job can be dangerous at times, with vehicles rushing by as tow truck operators perform their duties.
Tragically, last year 25-year-old Keagan Spencer was killed when Payton Bradley Ferris struck him on M-6.
Recently, a Grand Rapids towing company experienced a similar incident when one of their tow trucks was hit by a reckless driver, resulting in the driver being tossed into the road.
Berry's & Gillikin's Towing shared the incident on Facebook, stating:
"This is the second tow truck hit locally in less than a week. Our driver was struck at an active accident scene by another reckless driver last night. The impact tossed our driver into the road while he was loading a vehicle. Thankfully, everyone is mostly okay. This should have NEVER happened. This is not acceptable. The phone call a company never wants to receive: slow down and move over!"
After seeing pictures from the crash I'm amazed the driver survived.
With winter now upon us and road conditions worsening, it is crucial for drivers to pay extra attention and move over for tow trucks and other vehicles on the side of the road.
