GR’s Long Road Distillers Opening New Northern MI Tasting Room
Grand Rapids-based Long Road Distillers is opening a new location in Cadillac.
Opening in GR on Leonard St. in 2015, Long Road now has tasting rooms in Grand Haven, one in the works in Charlevoix - and one opening soon at 412 S. Mitchell St. in Cadillac. The site was formerly a fitness center.
Co-owner Kyle VanStrien tells the Cadillac News they aim to open by June 15, though that will depend on how long it takes the Michigan Liquor Control Commission to process their liquor license. They're continuing to renovate the space inside and out and get it ready for customers.
The Cadillac Tasting Room & Cocktail Bar will offer a guided sampling of Long Road's spirits, cans and bottles to-go, and craft cocktails. There will be both indoor and outdoor and outdoor seating.
While Long Road doesn't plan to offer food at Cadillac location, they will be partnering with local food trucks to set up nearby. Eventually they hope to rent out the space for weddings and other events.
MLive reports co-owner Jon O’Connor said in a statement,
We’re thrilled with the opportunity to join the downtown Cadillac community. As the gateway to Northern Michigan, we’re very familiar with the area and have always enjoyed spending time in and around downtown.
Long Road Distillers says their mission is to create world-class spirits from Michigan-grown ingredients. Their vodka, gin, bourbon, whisky, cordials and more have won multiple awards.
