On of those special drivers happens to work for Hudsonville Public Schools and is terminally ill.

Recently they were shown just how much they are loved when fellow school bus drivers made a special message just for him.

We Love You! Hudsonville Bus Drivers Message For Dying Colleague

Bus drivers from Hudsonville Public Schools in Michigan came together to create a touching aerial message for their terminally ill colleague, Mike Hoekstra.

This tribute happend as Hoekstra lifted off the ground on a hot air balloon ride, fulfilling one of his final wishes.

Hoekstra, who has been a dedicated bus driver for Hudsonville Public Schools for nine years, was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in February 2022.

With his condition deteriorating and only weeks to live, his fellow drivers wanted to show their support in a meaningful way.

Teresa Rens, one of the bus drivers who helped organize the event, explained that the idea was born from a desire to let Hoekstra know just how much he and his family meant to them.

On the day of the hot air balloon ride, approximately 50 bus drivers and their families gathered in a field to spell out "We love you" with their buses.

As Hoekstra floated above in the balloon, he was able to see this beautiful message crafted by his friends and colleagues.

The emotional moment left him deeply touched, as he expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from his bus driving family.

Hoekstra shared that despite his challenging circumstances, he remains hopeful and grounded in faith.

Hoekstra plans on spending his remaining days surrounded by his wife and four children.

I can't stop looking at the picture and how powerful of a message it is for Mike and his entire family that he's so deeply loved by his coworkers and the community.
