It’s All About the Gumbo As The B.O.B. Serves Up Fat Tuesday

It was all about the gumbo Tuesday at The B.O.B. Make that Fat Tuesday at The B.O.B.

The nine-hour Fat Tuesday celebration included a gumbo competition, a masquerade contest, music, street performers, Creole cuisine and a craft beer and specialty coffee pairing.

With nearly two and a half dozen entries, it was all about the gumbo -- with Channel 95.7's Curtis, of "Connie and Curtis," serving up his own homemade version of the delectable dish with some help from a partner.

The top three finishers in The B.O.B.'s Fat Tuesday Gumbo Challenge were Gander's, a new restaurant opening next month at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Grand Rapids Airport; Bootleg; and Squirrels 2. In the People's Choice category, What the Gumbo took first and CitySēn Lounge second.

The masquerade contest had more than a half dozen entries, with some true Mardi Gras partisans on hand vying for the $500 grand prize.
