MichTV Cribs: Michigan Brings MTV Cribs Back To Life With Athletes

Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, MTV was just coming to life and slowly blossomed into the mainstay entertainment channel that we know it as now. From crazy shows like parental control, the Challenge, Real Life to the music awards, early morning music videos, and programs like Run's house, MTV climbed the entertainment ranks quickly.

Once they were near the top of the game you could tell that they were bringing some of their most obscene ideas to life because they simply could. Why not try something crazy if you know your audience won't necessarily leave right away. This led to shows like Pimp my Ride, MTV Cribs, Celebrity Deathmatch, and Ridiculousness. MTV Cribs was showing us the CRAZIEST homes and didn't last long for whatever reason, but the University of Michigan is looking to bring it back.

While scrolling on TikTok I discovered a page that had tons of behind-the-scenes action of University of Michigan athletes. I'm not just talking the big names from the football team, which is most of the content, but they also have some lower profile athletes and athletes from other sports as well. They have started a series they have dubbed "U Mich Cribs", showcasing how these athletes are living.

I am completely astonished at how some of these athletes are living, NIL has really turned the game upside down because some athletes are living better than some working-class citizens. Their on or off campus apartments are as luxury as they get and are stacked to the nines with Michigan, sports, and other memorabilia.

From Lineman like Karsen Barnhart, Zak Zinter, and Trevor Keegan to other athletes like Kendall Murray of the Women's basketball team, they are showing off what it's like to be living and competing as a Michigan Wolverine. I'm not saying MTV Cribs was whack but it has nothing on U Mich Cribs, any guesses on who will be next?
