Michigan Restaurant Named Best Guy Fieri Stop in State
Confession time: I never intended to become a Guy Fieri fan.
When “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” first started, I thought the whole thing was a little much. The frosted hair. The backwards sunglasses on the back of his head. The nonstop energy. It all felt kind of ridiculous.

And yet... somewhere along the way, I got hooked.

Now I find myself watching not only Triple D reruns for the 400th time, but pretty much every Guy Fieri show Food Network throws at us. There’s just something fun about seeing these little local spots get national attention. Plus, anytime a Michigan restaurant or chef pops up on his shows, I’m immediately interested.
So when Tasting Table released its picks for the best “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” restaurant in every state, of course I had to see who took the title for Michigan.
Turns out, this place is no stranger to praise.
Michigan’s Top Triple D Pick
Detroit’s Supino Pizzeria was named Michigan's top Guy Fieri-approved restaurant by the foodie publication. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because the restaurant has already racked up plenty of accolades over the years.
Previously, it’s also been named Michigan’s best pizza spot and even the top Italian restaurant in the state.
Located at the Eastern Market in Detroit and on Woodward Ave., Supino is known for its East Coast-style thin pizza instead of traditional Detroit-style pies. According to Tasting Table, locals rave about the pizza, with some calling even the plain cheese pizza one of the best they’ve ever had.

What Guy Fieri Ordered at Supino
Guy Fieri featured Supino on two episodes of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” During one visit, he tried the restaurant’s “City Wing Thing” pizza topped with smoked turkey, cherry peppers, smoked Gouda, mozzarella, and roasted garlic.
Beyond pizza, Supino has built a reputation for house-made Italian dishes, salads, pasta specials, cannoli, and other desserts.
Of course, declaring any restaurant “the best” in Michigan is guaranteed to start arguments. In fact, Lovefood.com crowned a totally different spot the best diner, drive-in, dive in the state not too long ago.
