Starting in 2021, Hyundai (and Kia) drivers across the U.S. became victims of the Kia Boyz trend on social media. Posts online showed how to easily steal the vehicles, due to a missing anti-theft chip that most modern cars offer.

To curb the thefts of Hyundais, the car company and Grand Rapids Police Department are hosting a mobile software upgrade and anti-theft solution service center.

It's downtown Grand Rapids ay 555 Monroe Ave. NW. There are three events coming up.

  • Sunday April 28 12p.m. to 6p.m.
  • Monday April 29 8a.m. to 6p.m.
  • Tuesday April 30 8a.m. to 6p.m
