Most Non-Essential Kent County Services Will Close Early on Friday Due to Winter Storm
In anticipation of what is being called a "high-impact" winter storm, most non-essential Kent County Services are closing early today.
If you had an appointment today or an event, it's a good idea to make sure it's still happening, as closures and postponements are being announced.
The below Kent County offices or department will close at noon on Friday, January 12:
- Animal Shelter
- Board of Commissioners
- County Administration
- Community Action
- County Clerk/Register of Deeds
- Drain Commissioner
- Equalization
- Friend of the Court
- Health Department
- Parks
- Prosecuting Attorney
- Treasurer
- Veterans Services
Also, Community Action’s congregate meal program and transportation services will be closed.
The Department of Public Works Administrative Office and SafeChem Center will be closed; however, Waste to Energy, North and South Kent Recycling and Waste Centers, Recycling and Education Center will remain open.
Note that the Kent County Sheriff's Office records and main lobby will be closed - but, all other essential law enforcement services will continue to serve the community.
Kent County officials say you had an appointment scheduled on Friday afternoon, to contact the respective office, department, or court to reschedule.
