Lions Anzalone Believes Next Year is the Year
Detroit Lion's loss in the NFC game against the San Francisco 49ers has not deterred coaches or players from their belief that they can win a Super Bowl.
The Power of Belief
The power of belief is something you hear from successful people. Athletes, businessmen, rockstars, actors, actresses, fitness coaches, and anyone looking to inspire another individual to succeed.
Belief creates resilience and doesn't just survive adversity, it gets stronger because of it. Belief empowers people and is what animates the ability of a human to respond to any situation with extraordinary toughness, tenacity, and determination.
No matter what I have tried in life, when I have succeeded it was because I believed I could do it no matter what other people said or did to try and hold me back. Belief is not the only part, it's the hard work, the sacrifice, and the time spent focusing and doing everything possible to reach a goal. When a team shares the belief, does the hard work, and makes the tough sacrifice anything is possible.
Detroit Lions Linebacker Alex Anzalone Believes Next Year Is the Year
Belief is something Lions head coach Dan Campbell has been preaching to his players ever since he took the job. It must be working because the team went from a record of 0-10-1 in 2021 to 9-8 in 2022, and 12-5 in 2023, plus 2 playoff wins and an NFC Championship loss.
Campbell's power of belief is so strong the players believe too. Linebacker Alex Anzalone believes so much in the team he has taken the time to write an essay about that belief.
Anzalone showed his literary skills by writing an essay for The Players Tribune titled To The City of Detroit and it shows his belief in coach Campbell and his team members along with the belief the fans showed him and the Lions even after their NFC Championship loss.
In Anzalone's essay, he defended the Lions going for it on 4th down. Anzalone said, "If you could rewind time, we'd all do it again. If you have been following this team's journey for the last three years, then you know how we play football. You know the mentality that got us here."
Anzalone talked about how the city of Detroit and all the fans lifted him and his family. We all need to take the same belief that Campbell, Anzalone, and the rest of the team have and believe that next year is the year.
