Man Arrested for Taking Pictures Up Women’s Skirts at Grand Rapids Stores
Police have been investigating reports of a man using his phone to take pictures up women's skirts and shorts at stores along 28th Street in Grand Rapids.
The investigation started at the end of June after the Kent Country Sheriff's Office got multiple reports of a man taking lewd pictures of women at Walmart at 5859 28th St SE.
The Kent County Sherriff's Office identified the man. Search warrants found thousands of lewd photos he had taken in his possession.
The suspect, a 33-year-year old from Grattan Township, was arrested Tuesday, July 18, 2023 on charges of Surveilling an Unclothed Person, Aggravated Child Sexually Abusive Material, and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.
As investigators continued to dig into the case, electronic records of child pornography were found on devices.
It is believed the man often visited stores along 28th St. in Cascade Township near his employment.
While investigators have identified several victims, there are many victims that remain unidentified.
