Hot Sauce Festival Brings the Heat for Two Days
Michigan is turning up the heat this year with its inaugural two-day hot sauce festival, spicing up the state’s ever-expanding lineup of food and drink celebrations.
Hot Sauce Has Become a Big Deal
Over the past two decades, hot sauce has surged in popularity across the United States and worldwide. Today, it represents a $3.3 billion global industry, with projections suggesting it could double by 2032. In the U.S., it is among the most widely used condiments, with more than 90% of Americans adding it to their meals. This rapid growth is fueled by consumer demand for a diverse range of flavors, from mild to extremely hot.

Hot sauce gained major popularity when spicy chicken wings became a nationwide favorite. Some restaurants even feature a “Wall of Fame” honoring customers who have braved the world’s hottest sauces.
