I certainly have used paper towels to clean my fridge. I recently cleaned my fridge and couldn't find my paper towels or my cleaner until I realized I left them in the fridge while throwing away the used towels from cleaning.
I did see that some people use toilet paper and paper towels when defrosting their freezers and deep cleaning their refrigerator because it drew moisture but seems like a waste to put whole rolls of each in your fridge. So why should every Michigander keep paper towels in their fridge at all times?
The Reason Michiganders Should Put Paper Towels in Their Fridge
The purpose of putting paper towels in your refrigerator was not to store them but there is a good use for them for keeping moisture away from fruits and vegetables. How many times have you reached into your fridge to make some with your vegetables and they have already begun to rot and you wind up throwing them away? Too many for me that is for sure.
To prevent condensation of your fruits and vegetables, all you have to do is place some paper towels in your fridge compartments and they will absorb the excess moisture and keep those fruits and vegies nice and fresh. After you use up the fruit and vegetables, make sure and put in new sheets of paper towels for the next batch you store in your fridge.
