The Muskegon River is a top-tier Michigan fishery, providing year-round opportunities to catch migratory steelhead and salmon, as well as healthy populations of resident brown and rainbow trout, walleye, and warmwater species such as smallmouth bass and northern pike. Known for both fly fishing and conventional angling, the river is especially popular for its strong spring and fall steelhead runs and outstanding summer smallmouth fishing.
