A new restaurant is coming to Grand Rapids' Forest Hills neighborhood and it looks as if both owner and neighborhood are very excited.

Brunch House, a popular spot in Muskegon for several yeas, is expanding with a second location opening in the coming months at the former Manna Cafe on Forest Hill Avenue in Forest Hills.

Crain's Business Grand Rapids reported  this Brunch House will hopefully open sometime in March.

Owner Nick Barham, said this location, which will seat 110 customers, will be an upscale brunch spot that will offer a “modern, classy” take on traditional brunch fare.

Barham is the grandson of Bill Barham, the founder of Muskegon pancake restaurant Mr. B’s, which opened in 1974, and has been in the restaurant business all his life.

Nick wanted his own place so in 2019, he opened his own take on breakfast food, Brunch House at 3065 Henry St. in Roosevelt Park, offering a range of mimosas and cocktails in addition to traditional brunch fare.

Barham, who lives in Grand Rapids, and has been hoping to find the perfect spot to bring Brunch House here. When the vacant space opened up at the former Manna Cafe, he jumped at the chance.

Work on the new restaurant has been going on since December, with general contractor Visser Brother Inc. and Tyler Devereaux Interior Design. They are building-out an entirely new look and feel for the restaurant, including the addition of a bar.

Some yummy food and cocktails will awaits.
