She Set A World Record For Teaching and Still Going Strong!
Meet a 90-year-old English teacher at Detroit Country Day School who has officially broken a world record for her extraordinary dedication to education, earning recognition from Guinness World Records for the longest career as a female language teacher.
Introducing Beverly Hannett-Price, a 90-year old English Lit teacher.
It all began in 1957 when Eisenhower was President and Elvis went into the Army.
So much has happened since those early years, but one thing has remained constant, Beverly Hannett-Price teaching at Detroit County Day School and influencing and guiding young lives into adulthood.

Her students, which have gone on to become doctors, lawyers, company CEO's, community leaders, and famous actors, aka Courtney B. Vance, were there as she was surprised and honored at Detroit County Day.
As a young student in Hannett-Price's class, Vance shared a story of how she, behind the scenes, helped him through a family tragedy. Just one of many stories that have come to light as Mrs. Hannett-Price was loved by Detroit Country Day, the students at the school, the community and the Guinness World Record folks. Quite special.
I am sure we have all had a teacher in our lives who had a special impact on us. Teachers care about their students and want them to succeed.
The teacher I most remember was Miss Smith, my first and second grade teacher. She had a way of making you feel cared for, without harsh discipline. Hey, we were first and second graders and we were bound to do some crazy stuff. She would always explain what you had done and how you could have made it better. Who does that?
What about you? Who had a big impact on your life?
