Evil Dead Franchise Doing Magic: The Gathering Crossover

When Western Michigan University alumni and actor, Bruce Campbell and his friend, who was also from Michigan, Sam Raimi, set out to make the Evil Dead film series, I don’t think they could have ever imagined how legendary it would become. In the time period since its release, we’ve seen everything from a spinoff TV show to multiple video games and even a comic book crossover where the character Ash has to go up against the Marvel zombies.

But as cool as that crossover is, there is a new evil dead crossover that is truly for old-school nerds. Magic: The Gathering the card game has announced its 2023 Spooky Drop, where they are collaborating with multiple franchises to create new and creative crossover cards.

Magic: The Gathering has announced that among those are Doctor Who, Creepshow, The Princess Bride, and The Evil Dead. That’s right, on October 3rd you’ll be able to get your hands on Evil Dead Magic: The Gathering cards. You can check out the cards and their effects below, but this may end up being one of the coolest Evil Dead, crossovers of all time. Stay groovy.

Magic: The Gathering has unveiled its Halloween-themed Secret Lair Superdrop, and it includes not just one, but four new Universes Beyond crossovers. Due to launch on October 3, the Spookydrop 2023 Secret Lair Superdrop includes double-sided pulpy Horror comic cover cards, an Artist series for one of Magic’s most famous artists, and crossovers with Doctor Who, The Evil Dead, Creepshow, and The Princess Bride.
