Now, look deeper at the Michigan cities responsible for tipping the scales. Detroit, Michigan, was the first city in the state to be ranked among the 40 Fattest Cities in the US in WalletHub's study. Motown ranked as the 58th most obese and overweight metro in the country, the 9th worst for health consequences, and the 29th worst for food and exercise.
Grand Rapids, Michigan, earned the designation of 42nd most obese or overweight city in the country, ranking as 35th worst for health consequences and 48th for food and fitness.
