People named it outright, while others had opinions about its opinions. This is an informal verdict from Michiganders who answered our question, not a scientific ranking or a plaque Ann Arbor has hanging in city hall. If it were a plaque, I'm positive there would be opinions about the font.

Dearborn and Traverse City each came up more than once. So did Rives Junction, with one commenter describing its Facebook chatter as a local tabloid. Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Albion got mentions, too.

One person nominated Jackson "hands down." As someone who spent much of my life in Jackson, I have an opinion on that, but I'll save it for a very long article about where to find the best coney dog.

Another person nominated ‘every city’ they've visited, which might be the safest answer here. For now, Ann Arbor takes the unofficial crown. If you disagree, congratulations: You've just made a case for your town to demand a recount.
