Woman in Romulus Shockingly Finds an Alligator on Her Patio
Finding an alligator just chilling out on your back patio isn't something that happens very often in Michigan. As a matter of fact, it pretty much never happens. However, that's exactly what happened to a woman in Romulus.
Earlier this week, police in Romulus received a strange call from a woman claiming to have an alligator or crocodile on her back patio. Naturally, the officer on the phone expressed some skepticism.
Romulus Police Department:
A Romulus woman calls the police station and is calmly speaking to the sergeant. "Yes, uhm... (faint laughter in the background) I live over at ******** and there is a crocodile or an alligator on my back patio." After determining that no one was in danger, the mildly skeptical sergeant, "Can you send a picture of it?"
After receiving the photo, the sergeant immediately dispatched officers to the woman's home.
The exact size of the alligator isn't clear, but from looking at the photo below, my estimate is that it's only a few feet in length.
It's hard to say exactly how I would react if I came face to face with an alligator on my back porch. However, I don't react well when I simply see a garter snake, so I imagine I would freak out like a little girl.
If you or someone you know is missing an alligator, you should probably make a call to the Romulus Police Department at (734) 941-8400.
