If you have been sneezing a lot, you may not be surprised that there is a list of the worst cities for grass allergies and Grand Rapids is on it.

compared 131 metro areas based on allergy risk, exacerbators, and access to detection and treatment resources. More specifically, we looked at grass pollen forecasts, allergen intensity, and lawn mowing frequency, among nine total metrics.

Top 10 Worst Cities For Grass Allergies This Summer

If you are planning to travel to any of these cities, you may want to rethink your decision this summer.

1. Springfield, Massachusetts
2. Wichita, Kansas
3. New Haven-Milford, Connecticut
4. Hartford-East Hartford-Middletown, Connecticut
5. Modesto, California
6. Lancaster, Pennsylvania
7. Buffalo-Cheektowaga, New York
8. Syracuse, New York
9. San Francisco-Oakland-Berkeley, California
10. Toledo, Ohio

Where Does Grand Rapids Fall On The List?

Grand Rapids is within the top 15 on the list. On the plus side, at least it is not in the top 10.

11. Washington-Arlington-Alexandra, DC-VA-MD-WV

12. Cleveland-Elyria, Ohio

13. Worcester, Massachusetts-Connecticut

14. Grand Rapids-Kentwood, Michigan

Also, Grand Rapids is tied for the number two spot as the highest average number of significant grass allergens.

So, there are more grass allergens here than everywhere, except Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
