Ludington's New Year's Eve Ball Drop is one of West Michigan's biggest ball drops!

In 2024, they will be celebrating 14 years of lighting up the night sky on New Year's Eve.

Don't think of it as a little celebration. This event is HUGE!

According to Ludington's website,

"This is your quintessential New Year's Eve celebration – complete with outdoor beer garden, music, fireworks, and the ball drop with 6,000 LED lights – all set against the charming backdrop of downtown Ludington. Think of it as one giant street party, as Ludington’s main intersection of James Street and Ludington Avenue is open only to pedestrians that night after 9 p.m."

Plus, many stores and restaurants will be staying open until midnight so you can keep the fun going in downtown.

The city shuts down the main street so that thousands of people can get a good view of the New Year's Eve Ball.

At midnight, the ball drops, and the city is filled with confetti and fireworks.

The best part is...all of this is FREE!

Besides the actual ball drop, if you want to start the year off with being healthy and exercising, there is also an option for you.

"Start the New Year on the right foot (and burn off those partying calories) Jan. 1 with Ludington’s Resolution 5K at 11 a.m. through downtown. The $25 entry fee includes a custom die-cast finishers medal and a #RunLudington Fandana. Register online or on race day from 10 to 11 a.m."
