Jennifer Garner's home — or, more specifically, her chicken coop — is noticeably less fetch these days. The actress has alerted her millions of social media followers to the loss of her beloved pet chicken Regina George, which she said died of "natural causes."

Garner, who first introduced her beloved pal to the Instagram universe in November, shared the sad news late Monday night (April 2) with a tribute to the lovely Regina. Garner's video includes moving piano trills paired with images of her walking Regina, sharing the newspaper with her bird and, finally, the site of Regina's headstone, which marks her date of death as March 20th.

"Please enjoy this tribute to Chicken Regina George who passed away from natural causes. #shewasourfavorite #RIP#shelivedagoodlife," Garner wrote with the video-composite. And fans swooped in to offer their condolences.

"A Buff Cochin, Jennifer? We have a beloved Buff Cochin rooster (“Mr. Fluffypants”), so we know what great feathered family members they are. Sorry to hear that Regina moved on!" one wrote, while another noted "Aww... I'm sorry. I'm a new follower but I'm very familiar with pet loss, unfortunately. I'm sorry for your loss. I think that's a wonderful memorial stone."

Regina's introduction to the Internet four months ago included imagery of Garner walking the chicken down the street while Regina sported a full blue harness.

"Meet one of our ladies, Regina George. Regina loves long walks, dehydrated bugs, and kale. Regina hates....carbs," Garner wrote, offering a nod to Rachel McAdams' famously brutal Mean Girls character.
