I imagine a long time ago, someone that loved chocolate chips cookies and vanilla ice cream went to bed late one night and had a crazy dream of combining the two of them into a delicious sweet treat.

After looking into my idea, it might be possible. However, the real credit for the modern-day ice cream sandwich takes us to San Francisco, California back in 1928 where George Whitney began selling vanilla ice cream between two oatmeal cookies, dipped in dark chocolate.

This would eventually lead us to the modern ice cream sandwich we know and love.

Kearsley Kone Makes Giant 6lb Ice Cream Cookie

Kearsley Kone in Flint just opened their doors on April 17th, and are already getting some attention for its new giant 6.3lb ice cream cookie cake.

According to MLive, the ice cream cookie is made up of 2 10-inch cookies on top and bottom, with a 2-inch layer of vanilla ice cream placed in between.

How Can You Buy This Giant Ice Cream Cookie?

If you want to buy your own giant ice cream cookie you can do so, but you need to give Kearsley Kone at least 24 hours notice.

I would love to see this at a graduation party this summer or at someone's wedding as a dessert option.

Since we're on the topic of ice cream you might also want to check out some of these popular Ice Cream shops.
