Two ketchup-loving seniors at a Kansas City high school may have solved the biggest problem we all have with ketchup bottles: the watery discharge that drips out of the bottle if you don't give it a good enough shake. The students said they spent a week sketching out solutions to this problem, and chose a design based on the Pythagorean cup idea. Their final prototype looks like a regular cap to the consumer, but the inside resembles an upside down mushroom that traps water from escaping the bottle. It's a ketchup lovers dream come true. Here's a video of the two students describing their project.
