The signage has been up for some time underneath the Amway Grand Parking facility, and now K-ROK Korean Barbeque and Karaoke is about to open its doors.

I don't know about you, but right after I eat some bulgogi, I feel the need to bust out some 'Sweet Caroline' on a microphone, and now with the imminent opening of K-ROK Korean Barbeque and karaoke, I will be able to it in a great downtown location.

The eatery is set to open later this month, the owner told WOOD-TV 8 News this week.

Robert Yoon, who also owns Emonae Barbeque on 28th Street, said K-ROK 'will hype up the nightlife' downtown.

The restaurant is located at 169 Louis Campau Promenade across from the 99 Building and Panera bread. The location sat unused as a storage facility before Yoon utilized it.

Yoon told WOOD-TV:

Korean staples like bulgogi, kalbi, and dolsot bibimbap are expected to grace the menu, as well as Korean street food such as dukpokee.

Inlaid LED grills will allow guests to cook up their meals at their table.

K-ROK will also offer a variety of Korean beers, soju and Korean soju cocktails.
