Popular Weekend Anchor Exiting West Michigan’s FOX-17
A familiar face that many see on their TVs every weekend in West Michigan has announced that they will be leaving FOX-17.
FOX-17 weekend morning anchor and reporter Lauren Kummer took to social media on August 8 to announce that Wednesday, August 15, would be her last day with the station.
When Did Laura Kummer Start at FOX-17?
Kummer began with FOX-17 nearly four years ago and moved from being the Kalamazoo "Bureau Reporter" up the ranks to eventually becoming the "Morning Anchor/Reporter" in 2022.
Kummer came to West Michigan in 2020 from Nebraska where she worked for NTV News.
Kummer was born and raised in Canada, but came to the United States to attend Florida Gulf Shores University where she majored in Journalism and minored in French.

Why is Lauren Kummer Leaving FOX-17?
In her announcement on social media, Kummer expressed her appreciation for the people of West Michigan and said that her departure is because "it has always been top priority for me to be close to my family."
