In the Detroit Lions' opening game, I spent a lot of time watching their number one draft pick, Aiden Hutchinson, and from what I saw he was just manhandled by every Philidelphia Eagle offensive lineman he had to deal with.

Hutchinson only had one tackle and no sacks in the game against the Eagles and overall an abysmal start for such a highly sought-after defensive lineman who was hired to make tackles and sack the quarterback.

Maybe looking at the tape of game one against the Eagles inspired him, but whatever it was, Hutchinson played with fire and determination against the Commanders.

Hutchinson played a tremendous game - becoming the first Lion rookie in franchise history to ever have three sacks in one game. Those three sacks all occurred in the first half and attributed to the Lion's 22-0 lead at the half.

Hutchinson's size has always been a concern of mine even while in college, but what he lacks in size he makes up for in speed, heart, and determination. He took advantage of every opportunity given to him in week two. With six tackles, three sacks, and his hometown crowd giving him a standing ovation, Hutchinson had to feel pretty good on Monday morning.
