It was up to a public vote, and the 2022 Design and Drive Contest winner is...

Katelyn Wollet, of Muskegon, Mich., with "Dune Bears".

Katelyn says of her piece,

" 'Dune Bears' is a celebration of the origin story of the northern Michigan coast. Each panel depicts a piece of the lakeshore legend: The Story of Sleeping Bear. Though a difficult tale of a mother bear who lost her cubs, the narrative glows with her unwavering love and dedication as she waits on the shore and is covered with sand that formed today’s dunes. Whether you’ve seen those unrivaled ‘Up North’ views in-person a hundred times, or are first imagining them today, together we can appreciate and preserve our coastal lands and the waters that connect us all."

Katelyn has won a 24-month lease on a new 2023 Honda CRV.

ArtPrize Design and Drive Art Contest

West Michigan Honda Dealers Design and Drive Art Contest is back at ArtPrize for the seventh year.

Beginning in May, artists nationwide were invited to submit an original design to be applied to a vinyl-wrapped Honda vehicle for outdoor display during ArtPrize.

Last week, the six finalists got to work and began painting cars on Monroe Center near Rosa Parks Circle Downtown Grand Rapids.

Here's a look at them in action:

Their hand-painted cars are now finished and the artists are competing for a 24-month lease on a new 2023 Honda CRV. You can head down to Rosa Parks Circle, pick your favorite, and vote here through Sept. 29, 2022.
