Recently, the Mackinac Bridge set a new record for the longest consecutive closure due to falling ice.

The bridge was shut down for 30 hours and 4 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 20 hours and 15 minutes.

My father-in-law was supposed to head up to the bridge for some work earlier this week, but thankfully, he found out it was closed before he made the drive from Grand Rapids.
