Marijuana Facility Raided for Not Having License

Tuesday a marijuana facility operating without a license in Sturgis, Michigan, was raided.

According to MLive, authorities seized five pounds of marijuana and 60k in cash from an unlicensed marijuana facility who allegedly were also selling product to people under 21.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office is currently working on charges to bring against the facilities owner.

The owner of the unlicensed shop admitted to selling marijuana products to about 200 customers a day.

A drug task force also arrested two other suspects from the Sturgis area who were at the business during the raid. A man in his 40's who had an outstanding warrant and a second man who was in possession of methamphetamine.

No one at the facility had a valid medical marijuana patient card nor was a licensed caregiver.

According to Michigan state law, provisioning centers who sell to the public must be licensed as well as consumers of marijuana products have to be at least 21 years of age.

There are no licensed businesses that have been approved in the city of Sturgis, so if you are looking to open up shop, make sure you have a license. Looks like the community already has a thriving clientele.
