Meet Ethan – Christine’s Pet of the Week!
Plenty of animals are up for adoption at the Humane Society of West Michigan including 1-year-old Ethan!
Ethan is a Retriever & Terrier Mix that will do so wonderful in any home. He loves people and gets along GREAT with other dogs. It doesn't hurt that he's also a cutie ;) Ethan is still only one so he's full of energy and very playful so it's something to consider if you're looking for a more "chill" dog.
When adopting a new dog, especially a puppy, obedience classes are definitely encouraged. The Humane Society of West Michigan offers a number of sessions to fit the needs of different dogs such as puppy classes, ones for dogs who are shy and classes to help your dog be less aggressive. Each session lasts a week and will go all summer.
As this month begins to come to a close (so weird), now is time to think about micro-chipping your pet if they aren't already because May is National Chip Your Pet Month. Micro-chipping your cat or dog can essentially save their life. If they ever get lost or wander off and they are taken to a vet or shelter, the first thing they'll do is scan to see if they have a microchip which has all of your registered information on it. You can get more info and the importance of microchipping here.
