Wednesdays are my favorite days here at Channel 95.7 because every week I get to meet a new, furry friend from the Humane Society of West Michigan!

This week, Trudy from the humane society brought Tiger in to visit.

Tiger is a 10-year old Catahoula mix, which isn't a breed we see around these parts very often.

Catahoula is an American dog breed named after Catahoula Parish, in Louisiana. As a working dog, Catahoulas have been bred primarily for temperament and ability rather than for appearance.

Tiger and her brother came from the Pet Smart Rescue Program. Their owners had passed away, so the dogs were put up for adoption, and the Humane Society of West Michigan agreed to help. She still has a lot of life left and is hoping to find a good home soon. Since Tiger is a “senior pet,” over 7-years of age, she (along with her brother Lion) is FREE to the right home!

You can get all the information on Tiger and adopting, by visiting the Humane Society's website or by calling (616) 453-8900.

Trudy also mentioned their Valentine’s special, “Find Your Love.” From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14, all animals, 14-months and older, will only be $14!
