Not only did the temperature drop from Friday into Sunday, but gas prices did as well.

AAA Michigan reported that average gas prices in Michigan from last week to this week dropped from 2.90 per gallon to 2.75 per gallon by early Monday.

The drop is being attributed to high stock levels of gas being made available to accommodate for higher demand over the summer months.

Gas prices are 27 cents per gallon cheaper than a year ago at this time.

The cheapest gas in the Grand Rapids area is currently at the BP station at Hall and Division where its at 2.69 per gallon.
