
West Michigan Sisters Inspire Hope After Devastating Texas Flood
In the early morning hours of July 4, a devastating flash flood hit Kerrville, Texas.

Reports say that 10-12 inches of rain fell in just a few hours, sending water way past the banks of the Guadalupe River.
This intense downpour caused the Guadalupe River at Hunt (near Kerrville) to rise 26 feet in just 45 minutes before the gauge failed.
Downstream in Kerrville, the river surged to 21 feet.
Tragically, over 130 people have been confirmed dead following the flash flood.

While it's easy to see things like this and fall into despair, a couple of girls in West Michigan decided to do whatever they could to help those in need.
Michigan Sisters Raise Money For Texas Flood Relief
Sisters Gwen and Charlie Paling live in Spring Lake and after finding out from their mom about the devastating floods in Texas decided to raise money and send it to the Camp Mystic flood victims families
The girls set up a stand where they were selling lemonade and hydrangeas from their yard.
Their goal was to raise $30-$40, but they were blown away by the community's response.
Since the girls started collecting money, they've been able to raise over $1,200.

I love what Gwen and Charlie have done, and hope that they can be an inspiration to others who want to do something but don't think that they can make a difference.
