Michigan Man Arrested for Making Threats Against CNN
After making threats to kill employees at CNN, the FBI has arrested a man from Michigan.
ABC News reports that Brandon Griesemer of Novi made 22 phone calls, between January 9th and 10th, to the network's headquarters in Atlanta and threatened to kill employees working there. According to an affidavit from the FBI, Griesmer not only made death threats but accused CNN of being "fake news" and made derogatory comments towards African Americans and Jewish people.
The phone number Griesemer used to call CNN was also found to be the same number that called an Islamic center in Ann Arbor, last September, and made degrading comments. Griesemer confirmed to police that it was he who made the call.
CNN says Griesmer was released on Friday on a $10,000 bond and was charged with "transmitting interstate communications with the intent to extort and threat to injure." He faces three to five years in prison.
