When a deputy arrived to arrest Kerr, he was sitting on a zero-turn mower.
Instead of cooperating, Kerr sped away, leading the deputy on a short chase.
The deputy called out to him, but Kerr ignored the orders and drove off.
After about 15 seconds, the chase ended when Kerr stopped the mower in a ditch.
After getting off the mower, Kerr reached under the seat and pulled out a handgun.
The deputy, fearing for his safety, quickly used a Taser on Kerr.
This caused Kerr to accidentally shoot himself in the hand while trying to point the gun at the officer.
Kerr was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injury and later arrested.
He now faces serious charges, including assault with intent to murder and resisting arrest.
Thankfully, the deputy was not hurt during this crazy encounter.
